4 Creative Ideas for Your Pantry

Pantries are such an important piece of a kitchen and they come in all shapes and sizes. Many times they seem to small for what all needs to go in them. This blog will give you 4 ideas to keep your pantry organized and help you find what you need when you need it.

The first idea is to take a look at all the items in the pantry and decide if there are some items that can actually go elsewhere for other items that really need to be within reach frequently. If your pantry is too small for your food storage, consider putting those items only used once a year in another location. If the top shelf requires a step ladder, that too, is a great place for items rarely used.

Another great tip is to use a lazy susan where ever you feel items get lost in the back or in a corner. They come in many sizes now and you can put many cans, spices, or small boxes on them for easy use and finding what you need quickly. You can also find them with sides on them for items you do not want to tip over or that need to stay upright. No more finding expired food in the back or that 1 spice you now have 3 of because you could never find it. Problem solved!

A third idea is to use a shelf to make more room in the area. I have used them in the reach in pantries for cans and other items that will fit under them. It really gives you double the room and helps keep food visible. No more stacking cans and having them fall all over when you need the one on the bottom of the stack.

Lastly, keeping those individually wrapped snacks in a bin is a great way for everyone to see them and to eliminate the bulky box. This is also an easy way for kids to grab what they want without spilling other items. They can easily find items for their lunches if needed. Using bins for snacks allows you to buy bulk and dump it so it is visible. Bins come in all shapes and sizes depending on your need so make sure you have the right size for each snack.

If you need other ideas for your pantry or other space, I would love to hear from you.
