3 Smart Strategies To Make it Through the Holidays

Yes, they are right around the corner, and they come faster every year. If you are like many, the holidays bring stress, anxiety, and a sense of dread. No need for that this year if you follow a few smart strategies.

The first strategy is to make lists for everything you need to do. If you are making one item or hosting the whole dinner, it is time now to make the list for the groceries. Buy the non-perishables now and continue to do so up until the last holiday. With the warnings of shortages, it is better to be early this year. The earlier in the day you shop, the better too. Try to shop before noon as you will find more items out and less crowds in the stores.

When it comes to gift shopping, the same as the food is true this year. Always make a list for gifts needed and buy those that you will need to ship first. Wrap them as you get them and send those off as soon as possible. All the forms of shipping are saying their last day for doing so is earlier then normal, so do not wait. If you are ordering items online, do it now as they will need to get to you, wrapped and then shipped. Some offer wrapping others do not. If push comes to shove, a gift card is always a welcome gift especially for those you are not sure of as far as sizes and interests.

The last smart strategy is to be patient as there will always be issues with something. Have a backup plan for meals, hire help for cleaning, shopping, or anything else that you do not have time for. Not only will they get done, but you will also have a more enjoyable holiday season.
